Banking Made Simple

When banking a ball, it doesn't come off the rail at a true angle because of the friction of the rail. That is why many of people use english when banking. (Example) When banking a ball to the right, left english is applied. Most people incorporate this into their game through experience. These banks can be made easier if they knew the proper angles to hit them.

In the diagram, I show you a simple two to one bank that is two diamonds to one is the true angle. The black line shows the true angle. If you shoot this ball at the true angle, it will drop short due to the reaction off the rail.

In order to make this ball without english, you'll need to hit it from an angle 1/3 to the left of the 2nd diamond; the orange line shows the path. So in order to make the bank your cue ball needs to make contact where the orange line meets the object ball.

Here Is The Formula

Just set up different bank scenarios and practice banking using this method. Your banking should get more consistent.
